Unlike asphalt, concrete can be colored and stamped to create a variety of textures and decorative finishes to accentuate the appearance of your project. There are several techniques for producing colored concrete, and thousands of products available. Each unique method involves its own set of chemical formulations and reactions.

Impede® IntraSeal may be included to improve and protect your beautifully colored concrete project (as shown). However, with so many color chemical formulations it is impossible to ensure that IntraSeal will integrate well with all of them. See our pro tip below if choosing Impede® IntraSeal for your colored concrete project.

Pro Tip: When applying topical concrete dyes, test a small inconspicuous area before applying the colorant to the entire surface. If selecting an integral pigment, consult an experienced contractor who will advise you of best practices to achieve your desired outcome. This may include test batching, alternative product selection, or alterations to the application process.
